Among the topics discussed at the hearing was the importance of anti-racism education and bystander training at institutions, including K-12 education and workplaces. "It should happen in all spectrums of society because Islamophobia is showing up in all spectrums of society," said Alam. "We need to empower people to intervene when Islamophobia happens and to speak out against it and stop it from happening."
